Three solid words that describe my philosophy towards you, my client.

The best service that I can provide. Quality in the workmanship I present. Respect for the situations and people I photograph.

I take great pride in the ability to capture the essence of what means the most to you, be it a wedding, a portrait, or a family gathering.

Every assignment to me is a personal challenge that drives me to create some of the best images you have seen and that you will be proud to own and show
.

Photography has been a passion with me for the majority of my life. To some people I may seem a bit quirky, but that is usually because my mind is focused on the next image or set up. And I am well known for losing my glasses when shooting. My creativity  surfaces in not only in taking an image, but in interpreting that image into something I imagined that I can’t show you in the back of the camera.

What did I do when not a full time photographer? I was a Medical Technologist, a computer programmer, an electronics technician and a project manager (some of my projects were in the millions of dollars range), only switching jobs and careers when the creativity ran out and the job became unchallenging or just repetitive. But through the years I’ve always worked on my photography, taking classes, puttering around in my darkroom (colour and B&W) and generally working on my photographic skill sets.

Some old time photographers have had a hard time changing over to digital technology, but then I’m a technical geek. I love the freedom to express yourself that digital gives you. I have no problems with Photoshop or any other software program, after all, I used to write code and build computers by hand and soldering iron. (There was no “off-the-shelf” like today, in fact there was no shelf!) Digital to me is the fulfillment of photography and I embrace it whole-heartily.

I’ve also had a series of high school photography students interning at my studio where we have some great fun. The photo above is from one of them.

I am a member of:
WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International)
PPOC, Professional Photographers Of Canada, Observer Status.
Riverdale Artists Network
Lakeshore Arts
NoBS web site, a collection of photographers interested in advancing their work

I also try to show my work in various cafe’s and venues when I can, so if you would like to be added to my email list, send me a note.

Otherwise, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to give me a call.

Thank You

Rick Koroll

Why “3 Oaks Photography”? Because very few people could spell my name. Also, there are a lot of three’s in my life.  When you come by come prepared for a looong story.
